Opened the enclosure at 19:30. Instrument was turned over to the observer at 17:47 and we had 1.5 arc sec seeing at the start of the night and was between 1.0 and 1.5 most of the first half of the night. Everything ran smooth tonight. 2nd half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan Observing went all right second half, aside from a crash of the remote observer's Remark due to slitviewer abuse. Clouds started to show up around 0300 and thickened after 0400. There is a dark-current ramp on the slitviewer which I don't recall being so strong in previous observations, but it wasn't an impediment to tonight's observing. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:00 Echelle 8(-44) 245 73 7.2/8.4 270 13 open 1.47 22:42 Echelle 58(5) -155 42 6.2/5.9 244 14 open 1.24 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 51 13 29 259 (W) 592 clear none 17:01 53 12 17 258 (WSW) 701 clear none 18:01 50 6 20 264 (W) 952 clear none 19:01 48 8 20 262 (W) 693 clear none 20:01 45 9 14 266 (W) 918 clear none 21:01 44 10 11 258 (WSW) 836 clear none 22:01 43 9 14 261 (W) 965 clear none 23:01 43 9 15 254 (WSW) 1077 clear none 00:01 43 10 13 265 (W) 870 clear none 01:01 42 10 13 238 (WSW) 781 clear none 02:01 42 11 15 257 (WSW) 620 clear none 03:01 42 9 12 262 (W) 550 mstly clr none 04:01 42 8 14 274 (W) 508 ptly cldy none 05:01 41 8 11 261 (W) 515 ptly cldy none 06:01 40 7 15 272 (W) 449 ptly cldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
