After the observer took some twilight flats, I did a quick check of pointing and collimation and found both to be adequate though not perfect. We went on to science. The entire night was clear and apparently photometric, with seeing ranging from 0.8 to 1.5 arcsec. We closed for a couple of hours due to high winds with gusts over 40 mph, but otherwise everything went smoothly. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:25 GrIm2(f/5) 50(950) 305 78 5.2/5.4 225 17 J 1.02 20:28 NA2gdr -1000(58000) 304 78 5.1/5.3 214 20 none 1.1 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 49 20 15 211 (SSW) 326 clear none 17:01 46 17 18 218 (SW) 322 clear none 18:01 45 16 15 230 (SW) 349 clear none 19:01 43 19 18 222 (SW) 343 clear none 20:01 41 16 20 227 (SW) 326 clear none 21:01 42 15 18 217 (SW) 343 clear none 22:01 42 18 24 221 (SW) 336 clear none 23:01 42 18 25 217 (SW) 353 clear none 00:01 41 18 23 224 (SW) 458 clear none 01:01 41 17 26 209 (SSW) 695 clear none 02:01 41 13 31 216 (SW) 545 clear none 03:01 41 6 27 214 (SW) 334 clear none 04:01 40 7 23 224 (SW) 387 clear none 05:01 39 6 21 208 (SSW) 435 clear none 06:01 40 6 16 209 (SSW) 379 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
