Closed louvers to do DIS cal checkout at 18:15 and so enclosure would be dark and for the observers to do cals and biases at 19:15. Opened the enclosure and louvers at 20:40, when the observers finished with their lamps, to focus the telescope. The first half observers were trying a drift technique tonight with DIS and seemed to be having success with it but need some time to asses the data taken to be sure. The seeing was variable between 1.2 and 1.5 arc sec for most of the 1st half of the night. The guider was not focused at the start of the night since the 1st half observers said they would not need it. They decided to use the guider about 30 mins before the end of their run and the guider focus was OK, but probably not optimal. For the 2nd half, Jon decided that he would put off focusing the Guider since some of his objects were setting. The guider seemed well focused at after we checked the slitviewer focus at 02:30, but the guider focus routine was not employed. The seeing improved after 02:30 to the point where it was too good, 1u per 0.1 cubic feet. TELESCOPE STATUS Primary, secondary, and tertiary mirrors in place and collimated. Primary support system operational. Mirror ventilation system in place. Telescope drives operational. Current Remark version: 2.62. Current guide software version: GIm Ctrlv3.0b27. Current TCC version: 2.5.1 Current MC version: v1_7_3.
