We opened to cool at 16:50 until 18:38 MDT when we closed for cals. We reopened at 19:10. All systems ran smooth. Observing Specialist 2nd Half: Russet McMillan Second half was also very peaceful. It started out with poor seeing, around 2 arcseconds, then improved to about 1 arcsecond later in the morning as the east wind got weaker. In addition to the many targets observed, I was able to work on some improvements to the guider focus routines. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:17 DIS Slit -190(597) 48 73 +5.5/+6.8 99 4 none 1.42" 20:21 NA2 Gdr 1000(594) 47 73 +5.4/+6.8 87 9 none 1.41" 23:37 DISslit -30(643) 197 55 1.6/1.7 74 20 - 1.94 02:07 DISslit 50(669) 269 69 1.2/1.0 84 11 - 1.35 04:55 DISslit 175(818) 265 71 4.3/1.7 88 3 - 1.15 04:57 NA2gdr -499(55500) 265 70 4.3/1.8 92 3 none 0.92 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 54 17 9 260 (W) 426 clear none 17:01 54 18 8 255 (WSW) 390 clear none 18:01 51 15 6 181 (S) 426 clear none 19:01 45 13 2 259 (W) 504 clear none 20:01 41 12 6 154 (SSE) 491 clear none 21:01 38 18 13 87 (E) 495 clear none 22:01 36 18 15 80 (E) 463 clear none 23:01 35 18 17 80 (E) 496 clear none 00:01 35 17 12 88 (E) 472 clear none 01:01 35 17 14 82 (E) 527 clear none 02:01 34 18 12 86 (E) 506 clear none 03:01 33 18 12 78 (ENE) 476 clear none 04:01 38 15 1 102 (ESE) 486 clear none 05:01 40 11 2 92 (E) 475 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
