The weather has turned suddenly very cold again. We opened at 19:44 MDT to begin cooling. There was a loss of an hour total (including the image that was lost) due to the red chip starting to warm on DIS. Evidently the ln2 fill hose had not been put back on properly after my afternoon checkout. I removed it, reattached it and started a fill and it worked normally. A few biases removed any residual charge and we were back on the sky again in about 30 minutes after discovery. The rest of the night went very smoothly and the Princeton team obtained some very *interesting* data. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:15 DIS Slit +70(765) 209 53 +3.0/+3.5 319 15 none 1.45" 20:24 NA2 Gdr -355(762) 213 52 +2.6/+3.3 314 14 R 1.12" 00:51 DIS Slit +50(659) 252 34 -0.8/-0.5 10 13 none 2.14" 00:54 NA2 Gdr 1000(664) 254 32 -0.9/-0.7 348 23 none 1.96" ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 13 16 306 (NW) 5752 ptly cldy none 17:01 39 13 18 287 (WNW) 934 ptly cldy none 18:01 44 9 22 286 (WNW) 1912 ptly cldy none 19:01 41 4 15 271 (W) 750 ptly cldy none 20:01 37 11 10 284 (WNW) 742 ptly cldy none 21:01 35 15 12 5 (N) 296 ptly cldy none 22:01 34 16 3 0 (N) 256 cloudy none 23:01 33 18 17 348 (NNW) 305 ptly cldy none 00:01 32 19 9 12 (NNE) 350 ptly cldy none 01:01 31 20 19 354 (N) 339 clear none 02:01 31 20 7 19 (NNE) 332 clear none 03:01 31 20 15 357 (N) 368 clear none 04:01 31 18 23 11 (N) 331 clear none 05:01 31 18 25 28 (NNE) 389 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
