Closed louvers at 18:25 to do grating checks with DIS (too much stray light with the louvers open). Opened enclosure and louvers at 19:30. Rene was training J.Helmboldt tonight on the 3.5m Clouds pretty much stopped any observing at 21:30, I closed the enclosure at 23:00 since the clouds had not subsided and the lower the dust levels in the dome below the soft limit. 2nd half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan Varying clouds persisted during second half. Although conditions would have permitted opening for an houror so, there was no possibility of science, so the telescope remained closed. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:15 SPIcam -160(1060) 7 52 9.9/12.8 212 11 Ha 1.13 20:50 NA2gdr -1784(58215) 2 53 9.8/12.0 218 8 none 1.03 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 58 15 7 262 (W) 1068 Cirrus none 17:01 60 27 12 262 (W) 1654 Lt.
