Opened enclosure at 19:50. I turned off the telex/intex fans and closed the louvers at 21:00 and turned the press fans on due to increasing dust levels. I turned the press fans off at 22:05. The seeing was variable and moved considerably during the first half of the night. I closed the enclosure due to high winds and dust at 23:14. 2nd half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan A cold front moved in rather enthusiastically and dust, wind, and humidity were all a problem for a while. The wind at ground level kicked up enough dust to set off the precipitation sensor. After the wind and dust dropped, the humidity remained too high to open. FIT experienced a complete connectivity failure, but we decided there was no point worrying about it in such weather. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:15 DIS-slit -110(1002) 13 67 11.9/14.1 49 9 none 1.24 20:25 NA2gdr -998(55001) 13 67 12.0/13.9 40 9 none 1.07 21:45 DIS-slit 20(1140) -161 38 10.3/11.9 76 19 none 1.86 22:17 DIS-slit 260(1380) -152 35 10.2/11.3 80 19 none 1.80 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 67 17 4 270 (W) 1279 Clear none 17:01 66 18 14 286 (WNW) 1117 Clear none 18:01 61 14 5 285 (WNW) 1163 Clear none 19:01 57 12 0 254 (WSW) 1281 Clear none 20:01 52 8 4 22 (NNE) 1359 Clear none 21:01 52 21 18 70 (ENE) 1801 Clear none 22:01 51 26 16 84 (E) 2060 Clear none 23:01 49 23 24 72 (ENE) 2181 Clear?
