Louvers opened at 17:45. Opened enclosure at 18:50. Seeing started out sub arc sec at the start of the night but gradually moved upwards to a little over 1 arc sec. I monitored the focus and adjusted it at various times during the first half of the night exposures, to keep the instrument in relatively decent focus. During the 2nd half of the night the seeing improved with it staying between 0.7 - 1.1 arc sec, depending on position, for most of the night. No auroa were visible to the naked eye tonight, but a few brighter sky lines were seen in some of the DIS spectra taken tonight. Not as intense as last night, but still present. Everything ran smoothly again tonight. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:08 DIS-slit -120(780) 151 58 6.8/8.7 271 7 none 0.87 19:12 NA2gdr 147(57197) 151 58 6.8/8.7 266 7 red 0.93 22:52 DIS-slit 30(871) 139 50 6.8/6.7 236 14 none 1.18 00:15 DIS-slit 50(801) -157 82 6.5/6.3 209 11 none 0.81 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:02 46 8 13 338 (NNW) 544 clear none 17:02 48 7 1 292 (WNW) 542 clear none 18:02 46 8 8 316 (NW) 532 clear none 19:02 45 11 9 273 (W) 500 clear none 20:02 45 11 8 251 (WSW) 573 clear none 21:02 45 12 11 225 (SW) 595 clear none 22:02 45 9 13 232 (SW) 584 clear none 23:02 45 10 12 226 (SW) 589 clear none 00:02 44 10 14 216 (SW) 580 mst. clear none 01:02 43 10 12 225 (SW) 914 mst. clear none 03:02 44 9 12 235 (SW) 883 clear none 04:02 43 9 16 238 (WSW) 787 clear none 05:02 42 10 14 218 (SW) 863 clear none 06:02 43 11 12 214 (SW) 723 lt. cirrus none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
