We closed for 40 mins and opened again. No problems encountered during startup with telescope. The cloud camera chopper wheel was found to be damaged, but operable. PR Submitted. Throughout first half tertiary continued to send messages about being unhappy but the telescope pointed well all night and images were round. A dust event at 21:10 necessitated that we close. During this event I noticed that the handheld detector is due for its annual recalibration as well. I did use it in the 3.5m dome and it agreed within 200 counts with the detector in the dome. We were able to open again soon after. Second half started without incident. All ran smoothly. We were forced to close after 01:20 due to high winds. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:49 DIS Slit +30(722) -029 66 4.3/4.4 255 18 none 1.41" 18:54 NA2 Gdr +20(723) -029 67 4.2/4.4 255 13 R 1.25" 20:10 DIS Slit -100(509) -038 86 2.5/3.0 267 20 none 1.97" 20:12 NA2 Gdr +24(509) -039 86 2.4/2.9 266 18 R 1.88" 23:10 DIS Slit -100(498) 169 54 1.3/1.4 330 8 none 2.26" 23:16 NA2 Gdr +24(492) 171 55 1.2/1.3 316 7 R 1.85" ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 41 14 19 305 (NW) 363 clear none 17:01 43 13 18 288 (WNW) 443 clear none 18:01 41 15 17 279 (W) 430 clear none 19:01 39 18 16 266 (W) 720 ptly cldy none 20:01 37 21 12 269 (W) 1352 clear none 21:01 34 21 13 269 (W) 3149 clear none 22:01 34 22 9 290 (WNW) 2994 clear none 23:01 35 11 21 335 (NNW) 1826 clear none 00:01 31 11 7 4 (N) 2149 clear none 01:01 27 -1 4 1 (N) 1764 clear none 02:01 26 -16 22 6 (N) 493 clear none 03:01 27 -19 29 358 (N) 311 clear none 04:01 25 -23 36 19 (NNE) 421 clear none 05:01 23 -24 27 16 (NNE) 300 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
