They thinned around 19:10 and I turned the exhaust fans on/opened louvers and opened the enclosure up at 19:15. Handed the instrument over to the observer at 19:22. Humidity increased to closure limit (and clouds thickened at 19:50) which forced closure of the telescope for the remainder of the 1st half. L. Homer was training on the 3.5m again tonight. Observing Specialist, 2nd Shift: Noel Camron Hastings Did not open due to high humidity, blowing snow and high winds. I turned the SPIcam Cryo-Tiger off around 01:00 MST to allow it to begin warming in preparation for disassembly. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:40 SPIcam -250(156) 142 62 -7.1/-5.0 297 13 b 1.51" ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 23 14 11 274 (W) 310 cloudy lt. snow 17:01 22 13 13 263 (W) 247 cloudy lt. snow 18:01 20 14 8 276 (W) 208 cirrus none 19:01 20 12 13 269 (W) 174 cirrus none 20:01 19 16 9 333 (NNW) 299 cirrus none 21:01 19 16 12 344 (NNW) 204 cirrus lt. snow 22:01 19 15 10 321 (NW) 195 cirrus lt. snow 23:01 18 16 5 345 (NNW) 207 cirrus lt. snow 00:01 17 16 19 7 (N) 182 cirrus lt. snow 00:01 17 16 11 7 (N) 182 cirrus none 01:01 17 15 17 336 (NNW) 215 cirrus none 02:01 17 15 13 353 (N) 219 cirrus none 03:01 16 14 16 352 (N) 218 mstly clr none 04:01 19 9 29 34 (NE) 169 clear none 05:01 20 1 27 26 (NNE) 150 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
