Opened enlosure at 17:45 under moderate cirrus clouds. L. Homer is here training on the 3.5m tonight. I turned the instrument (with my supervision) over to him at 18:40 under cirrus clouded skies. Other than pesky cirrus clouds for most all of the 1st half and poor seeing (1.5-2.0 arc sec) things ran very smoothly. Observing Specialist, 2nd Shift: Russet McMillan Second half was peaceful, with DIS observations under mostly clear skies or light cirrus. Seeing was generally poor (1.5-2.5 arcsec), and there were some minor difficulties with the slitviewer control software, but everything else went well. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:05 SPIcam 0(621) 133 58 -1.2/-0.5 268 20 b 1.90" 19:15 NA2gdr -515(59484) 136 59 -1.3/-0.6 266 15 none 1.78" 00:34 DISslit 0(350) 25 79 -4.6/-4.7 283 16 - 1.43 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 33 26 24 265 (W) 609 cirrus none 17:01 33 25 14 262 (W) 614 cirrus none 18:01 30 23 19 274 (W) 637 cirrus none 19:01 31 15 25 257 (WSW) 552 cirrus none 20:01 28 18 15 264 (W) 1146 cirrus none 21:01 27 16 13 267 (W) 832 cirrus none 22:01 26 16 12 271 (W) 683 cirrus none 23:01 25 15 11 272 (W) 645 cirrus none 00:01 24 15 15 271 (W) 645 cirrus none 01:01 24 15 12 279 (W) 735 cirrus none 02:01 23 16 16 274 (W) 723 mstly clr none 03:01 22 16 10 268 (W) 755 ptly cldy none 04:01 21 14 9 267 (W) 681 mstly clr none 05:01 21 13 9 263 (W) 634 mstly clr none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
