We then closed for cals and reopened. I noticed that one of the PMSS desiccators is pink on the intermediate level and in need of recharging. Today I tried to open DIMM and run the cobwebs out of it since it has sat for a long time. I found the telescope stored with the lens pointing straight up (good dust collector!) and the power supply dead. The laptop was running, but the power pack for the telescope appears to have failed. I will try and troubleshoot it when I have more time, but may need a new power converter. The NMSU 1.0m dome had a failure that kept one shutter from closing. I went up to check it out and found a few set screws on a clutch shaft loose and tightened them up allow them to operate tonight. Observing Specialist, 2nd Shift: Russet McMillan Second half was very peaceful. Despite persistent high clouds and variable seeing (ranging from 0.8-1.8 on the guider), many targets were observed. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:22 DIS Slit -50(630) 221 59 2.7/3.7 236 12 none 1.08" 18:27 NA2 Gdr -3062(621) 223 59 2.6/3.5 242 14 none 1.07" ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 42 6 19 251 (WSW) 957 cirrus none 17:01 40 6 18 225 (SW) 944 cirrus none 18:01 36 3 13 259 (W) 779 cirrus none 19:01 36 1 12 208 (SSW) 786 cirrus none 20:01 36 2 14 192 (SSW) 857 cirrus none 21:01 37 3 17 200 (SSW) 879 cirrus none 22:01 36 2 19 195 (SSW) 1071 cirrus none 23:01 36 1 15 218 (SW) 872 mstly clr none 00:01 35 1 13 211 (SSW) 839 cirrus none 01:01 34 1 13 218 (SW) 728 cirrus none 02:01 34 2 18 248 (WSW) 724 cirrus none 03:01 35 2 10 217 (SW) 658 cirrus none 04:01 36 1 14 248 (WSW) 621 cirrus none 05:01 35 2 8 278 (W) 658 cirrus none 06:01 35 5 9 269 (W) 698 cirrus none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
