We remained closed until sky was somewhat promising. We did run fans and have louvers open to help cool. We finally opened at 18:30 MST. Observed for a while when clouds moved in again and I closed. Later I opened again with much improved seeing and mostly clear skies. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan The telescope was closed shortly after I arrived due to rising humidity. It leveled off right near the limit for a while, then slowly improved. I re-opened in time for the first half observer to get one more target. Second half started out clear with fairly good seeing, then some clouds appeared after 1:00 The clouds became thick and threatening later in the morning, and the telescope was closed at 5:00. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION -------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:30 Echelle -254(-731) 35 51 0.9/2.9 270 8 ND2 1.21 20:50 Echelle -208(-830) 9 64 -1.5/0.3 284 5 ND2 0.73 22:25 Echelle -73(-813) 12 79 -2.5/-1.6 345 9 ND2 1.55 00:55 Echelle 6(-642) -138 43 -1.5/-2.0 318 15 ND2 0.95 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 35 22 14 271 (W) 88 cloudy none 17:01 34 22 6 270 (W) 124 cloudy none 18:01 33 22 11 276 (W) 112 cloudy none 19:01 32 22 8 294 (WNW) 129 cloudy none 20:01 31 22 5 291 (WNW) 130 ptly cldy none 21:01 29 22 5 280 (W) 400 clear none 22:01 28 23 6 350 (N) 513 clear none 23:01 29 25 12 350 (N) 78 clear none 00:01 30 24 15 311 (NW) 73 ptly cldy none 01:01 29 23 13 316 (NW) 88 cirrus none 02:01 30 24 19 308 (NW) 54 cirrus none 03:01 29 24 18 318 (NW) 53 cirrus none 04:01 28 23 8 316 (NW) 48 ptly cldy none 05:01 28 22 10 337 (NNW) 44 cloudy none 06:01 28 24 15 318 (NW) 37 cloudy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
