We opened a little late, around 17:00 and all systems came up fine. No problems encountered. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Jack Dembicky Everything ran smooth as clockwork tonight. Seeing was sub arc sec when the FTS folks did a spot check around 03:30 (I also focused the guider at this time and had sub arc sec seeing with it as well). ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION -------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:24 GRIM f/5 +20(587) 167 58 4.4/7.0 252 23 J 0.84 18:14 GRIM f/5 +50(513) 188 58 3.5/4.4 211 21 J 0.61 22:36 GRIM f/5 0(???) 143 51 4.2/4.4 238 12 J 1.22 00:25 IFTS -100(281) 282 44 4.4/3.9 211 15 all 1.40 03:31 NA2gdr 1682(52682) 253 52 3.8/3.8 217 21 R 0.79 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 43 27 21 215 (SW) 288 clear none 17:01 39 26 17 242 (WSW) 422 clear none 18:01 38 25 20 210 (SSW) 518 clear none 19:01 39 21 19 199 (SSW) 160 clear none 20:01 40 20 18 209 (SSW) 156 clear none 21:01 40 21 11 264 (W) 220 clear none 22:01 40 23 11 239 (WSW) 243 clear none 23:01 40 25 13 224 (SW) 242 clear none 00:01 39 25 14 226 (SW) 247 clear none 01:01 40 24 15 211 (SSW) 254 clear none 02:01 40 22 18 206 (SSW) 187 clear none 03:01 39 22 17 222 (SW) 154 clear none 04:01 38 22 19 216 (SW) 167 clear none 05:01 38 22 19 225 (SW) 150 clear none 06:01 38 22 21 217 (SW) 159 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
