Jeff Morgan logged in from UW to perform focus vs. temp tests. Skies were clear, winds moderate. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan Jeff continued his focus tests during second half, and I also tried some tests of various planetary pointing methods. We didn't do throughput measurements because it wasn't photometric after midnight. I got an improved echelle pointing model to check some oddities I noticed in the last model, which was rather small. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION -------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 27 9 12 340 (NNW) 231 clear none 17:01 26 11 25 344 (NNW) 109 clear none 18:01 26 11 7 347 (NNW) 66 clear none 19:01 26 12 14 38 (NE) 62 clear none 20:01 26 13 20 5 (N) 64 clear none 21:01 27 13 20 1 (N) 65 clear none 22:01 27 13 15 0 (N) 68 clear none 23:01 27 12 16 1 (N) 75 mstly clr none 00:01 26 12 17 38 (NE) 87 mstly clr none 01:01 26 12 7 328 (NNW) 88 mstly clr none 02:01 27 10 21 11 (N) 82 mstly clr none 03:01 27 9 22 9 (N) 61 mstly clr none 04:01 27 8 9 325 (NW) 59 cirrus none 05:01 32 -2 4 5 (N) 30 mstly clr none 06:01 31 -1 13 2 (N) 23 mstly clr none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
