Russet came in early and started a pointing model with NA1 using the NA2 port settings (SPIcam) due to the problems encountered yesterday. We finished the pointing model (which seemed to work well) at 20:36 and turned the echelle over to the normally scheduled observer. Seeing was variable during the 2nd half of the night and dependant on where the telescope was looking. It ranged, from the guider display, from sub arc sec to 2+ arc sec just by moving the telescope to a new position in the sky. We had a minor glitch in the NA2 guider not displaying/scaling images correctly, but nothing that took time away from science. Everything ran smoothly otherwise. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE MODE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION -------------------------------------------------------------------- JH05/E T/H 17:52 20:36 Ech. pt. mod. b/c of tert probs ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:28 Echelle -12(-820) 309 44 -5.1/-5.6 29 7 ND1 1.21 00:18 SPIcam 30(196) 14 49 -5.7/-6.2 19 12 g' 2.03 00:46 NA2gdr 1557(62557) 11 50 -5.4/-6.2 2 10 R 2.03 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 24 6 4 338 (NNW) 138 Clear none 17:01 22 7 7 8 (N) 165 Clear none 18:01 23 5 10 347 (NNW) 103 Clear none 19:01 23 6 8 290 (WNW) 88 Clear none 20:01 23 6 14 328 (NNW) 78 Clear none 21:01 23 7 4 88 (E) 105 Clear none 22:01 22 6 5 5 (N) 108 Clear none 23:01 22 6 12 9 (N) 90 Clear none 00:01 22 2 24 328 (NNW) 99 Clear none 01:01 22 -7 16 350 (N) 65 Clear none 02:01 23 -20 15 6 (N) 37 Clear none 03:01 23 -18 24 20 (NNE) 43 Clear none 04:01 23 -17 23 11 (N) 55 Clear none 05:01 25 -13 17 6 (N) 117 Clear none 06:01 26 -13 23 31 (NNE) 53 Clear none 07:01 27 -16 18 32 (NNE) 40 Clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
