Louvers were kept closed since we needed to DIS calibrations and required a dark enclosure. The first half observers started taking cals at 17:50 and I opened the enclosure at 18:15. Seeing was around 1 arc sec when we focused at the start of the night. Things ran smoothly for the first half of the night. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan Second half was clear and apparently photometric, with variable seeing that seemed to have a complex positional dependence (0.8-2.5 arcsec). Everything worked perfectly. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG/INST FAILURE TIME S/E/G/D/O TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION -------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:26 DISslit -90(509) 199 50 5.2/7.0 6 10 none 1.16 18:35 NA2gdr 2000(59000) 201 50 5.1/6.7 8 13 R 0.83 20:50 DISslit -110(398) 212 54 4.4/5.1 353 10 none 1.04 20:58 NA2gdr -2791(54208) 215 53 4.8/5.0 10 9 R 1.19 22:08 DISslit 40(634) 222 38 6.6/5.3 354 5 none 1.16 22:16 NA2gdr -1292(55707) 225 37 6.4/5.4 343 7 R 1.33 00:11 SPIcam 0(710) -83 70 5.5/5.9 316 3 U 0.78 00:13 NA2gdr 2342(63342) -83 70 5.4/5.9 351 7 R 0.85 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 42 -1 11 6 (N) 30 mstly clr none 17:01 41 1 13 17 (NNE) 40 mstly clr none 18:01 42 -3 9 4 (N) 37 mstly clr none 19:01 40 5 9 339 (NNW) 20 clear none 20:01 42 0 7 349 (NNW) 26 clear none 21:01 41 3 6 357 (N) 22 clear none 22:01 43 6 5 0 (N) 20 clear none 23:01 45 5 6 350 (N) 18 clear none 00:01 43 4 7 314 (NW) 28 clear none 01:01 43 3 6 268 (W) 26 clear none 02:01 44 -8 7 273 (W) 25 clear none 03:01 43 -2 11 276 (W) 25 clear none 04:01 41 -6 13 282 (WNW) 29 clear none 05:01 40 -4 18 291 (WNW) 9 clear none 06:01 40 -1 21 305 (NW) 15 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
