Barentine High humidity and clouds prevented opening. During checkout the telescope failed to slew in altitude and a fault in the encoder was suspected since it failed to read a position change even when the telescope was moved by hand. Craig and Jon Davis replaced the encoder with a spare. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R. McMillan The sky cleared nicely second half, but the humidity refused to drop. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 34 32 1 327 (NNW) 12 MstlyCldy none 17:01 33 32 0 325 (NW) 39 MstlyCldy none 18:01 33 33 0 317 (NW) 74 MstlyCldy none 19:01 33 32 0 16 (NNE) 137 MstlyCldy lt snow 20:01 33 32 5 61 (ENE) 24 MStlyCldy lt snow 21:01 33 31 0 258 (WSW) 46 PtlyCldy none 22:01 33 30 0 244 (WSW) 45 PtlyCldy none 23:01 33 31 0 251 (WSW) 31 MstlyClear none 00:01 34 30 1 257 (WSW) 22 mstly clr none 01:01 32 31 3 226 (SW) 39 mstly clr none 02:01 32 31 5 248 (WSW) 245 mstly clr fog 03:01 32 30 6 269 (W) 38 mstly clr none 04:01 32 31 7 334 (NNW) 26 mstly clr none 05:01 32 31 8 336 (NNW) 36 mstly clr none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
