The first half program worked on cals, then I decided to open at 20:50 when clouds abated some. The seeing was excellent, as the focus shows. Second Half Observing Specialist: R.McMillan After a brief period of clear skies, cirrus moved in shortly before midnight. The clouds thickened rapidly during second half, making even the brightest of the observers' targets unreachable midway through their first exposure. We closed when Jupiter became invisible, and for the remainder of the night we got no usable weather. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:02 DIS Slit -75(547) 204 56 7.6/7.8 180 11 none 0.97" 21:07 NA2 Gdr -1994(55004) 205 56 7.5/7.8 181 11 R 0.82" 23:57 DISslit 25(779) 72 36 7.1/7.6 244 11 - 1.5 23:58 NA2gdr 1768(58768) 72 37 7.1/7.6 244 11 R 1.19 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 49 28 8 261 (W) 358 mstly cldy none 17:01 46 27 11 229 (SW) 351 mstly cldy none 18:01 45 26 10 213 (SSW) 366 mstly cldy none 19:01 45 28 7 208 (SSW) 445 mstly cldy none 20:01 46 25 10 178 (S) 430 mstly cldy none 21:01 46 17 12 179 (S) 233 ptly cldy none 22:01 46 20 10 181 (S) 314 mstly clr none 23:01 46 19 8 189 (S) 294 clear none 00:01 45 12 12 245 (WSW) 90 ptly cldy none 01:01 47 19 11 264 (W) 149 mstly cldy none 02:01 46 17 9 219 (SW) 145 mstly cldy none 03:01 46 22 11 218 (SW) 146 mstly cldy none 04:01 46 19 13 231 (SW) 124 mstly cldy none 05:01 45 19 14 232 (SW) 84 mstly cldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
