Everything went smoothly. I tried to record a representative cooling curve for SPIcam so that we can eventually adjust the autofocus algorithms. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Noel Camron Hastings. Started out second half clear then a few clouds moved in. We switched to DIS and during focus I found the pointing to be off by quite a bit. I made 2 corrections and this fixed things. Previously the program was observing at very low altitude. Encoder errors looked good. Clouds moved in around 03:00 and forced us to close around 03:30. The clouds kept getting thicker, and the humidity rose and rain was approaching on the radar, so we called it a night around 05:00 MDT. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:38 SPIcam -275(743) 127 43 8.8/11.2 180 6 r' 1.36 19:40 NA2gdr -793(60206) 128 44 8.9/11.1 180 5 R 1.20 19:55 SPIcam -175 r' 20:04 SPIcam -125(863) 131 44 9.3/10.6 186 8 r' 1.06 20:36 SPIcam -75(879) 139 48 9.1/10.0 183 2 r' 1.35 21:37 SPIcam -25(894) 153 55 9.6/9.7 187 3 r' 1.02 22:13 SPIcam -25(904) 75 50 9.6/9.7 186 5 r' 1.15 01:10 DIS Slit 0(765) 323 33 8.4/8.8 180 7 none 1.11 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 58 40 10 231 (SW) 1082 ptly cldy none 18:01 54 39 8 190 (S) 969 cirrus none 19:01 49 38 1 150 (SSE) 931 cirrus none 20:01 49 36 4 181 (S) 551 cirrus none 21:01 49 35 4 183 (S) 548 ptly cldy none 22:01 50 35 5 186 (S) 639 cirrus none 23:01 49 37 7 181 (S) 777 mstly clr none 00:01 48 38 10 197 (SSW) 644 clear none 01:01 47 39 6 181 (S) 751 ptly cldy none 02:01 48 39 6 181 (S) 736 ptly cldy none 03:01 48 36 7 199 (SSW) 768 ptly cldy none 04:01 46 39 4 209 (SSW) 839 mstly cldy none 05:01 45 40 9 186 (S) 702 cloudy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
