Dembicky Mostly cloudy skies with the threat of rain around 17:30 kept us closed until after sunset. Then the clouds seemed to part ways (well, we still had a lot of thin cirrus). We opened around 20:40 with marginal skies at best. Lots of cirrus and a few clouds but since the observers were observing bright objects and it looked like the threat of rain was past I decided to open and let them have a go at it. Clouds got in the way for about 45 mins during the first half. The observers stopped collecting data, but I left the enclosure open. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: J. Barentine Switched over promptly at halftime under clearing skies. The second half progressed very well without incident under generally subarcsecond seeing conditions. Clouds moved in from the west around 04:30 but were thin enough to observe through. Doug Duncan, 2nd half observer, asked to have a mention made in the log that he was having trouble getting autoftp to work with his images. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:48 DISslit 20(804) 110 63 11.1/12.3 273 1 none 1.13 20:54 NA2gdr 3547(60547) 112 64 10.7/12.2 266 2 R 0.90 01:36 Echelle 11(-77) 220 38 10.0/10.4 184 10 clear 0.95 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 56 35 0 200 (SSW) 278 Mst.
