Louvers were closed for DIS checkout at 17:40 but fans were left on. Tonights observers came online around 18:00 just as I was finishing the checkout and procedeed to start their cals at around 18:12. Everything ran smoothly and seeing started out around 1 arc until the wind changed direction a around 21:00 and then the seeing deteroiated to between 1.5-2.3 arc sec. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: Russet McMillan Second half had continuous thin cirrus and improved seeing, getting down to 0.7 arcsec for a while. There was one timeout failure of the guide camera, which didn't cost any science time. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:50 DISslit -170(676) 109 62 9.8/13.8 184 9 none 1.03 18:58 NA2gdr 836(57836) 110 63 9.8/13.5 195 8 R 1.00 21:37 DISslit -80(579) 123 62 8.4/9.2 179 8 none 1.49 21:42 NA2gdr 628(57628) 125 63 8.8/9.3 178 8 clear 1.35 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 60 20 8 278 (W) 474 Cirrus none 17:01 59 19 8 256 (WSW) 536 Cirrus none 18:01 52 18 2 223 (SW) 639 Cirrus none 19:01 49 19 6 185 (S) 670 Cirrus none 20:01 50 20 7 186 (S) 611 Cirrus none 21:01 48 20 9 175 (S) 580 Cirrus none 22:01 48 19 8 182 (S) 576 Cirrus none 23:01 48 19 2 118 (ESE) 634 Cirrus none 00:01 49 18 0 151 (SSE) 579 Cirrus none 01:01 48 18 5 176 (S) 556 Cirrus none 02:01 48 17 8 179 (S) 569 Cirrus none 03:01 49 19 5 182 (S) 534 Cirrus none 04:01 49 19 1 179 (S) 633 Cirrus none 05:01 49 19 1 182 (S) 559 Cirrus none 06:01 49 20 4 183 (S) 550 Cirrus none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
