Barentine The first-half observers showed up around 18:00 and began taking cals at 18:15, once checkout was complete. The enclosure was opened at 18:45 under skies obscured by moderately-thick cirrus. Those clouds gradually disappeared as the sky grew darker. Around 20:50 the remote observers noted that the slitviewer images were "starting to fade" and suspected clouds, but the sky was clear in their observation area. The software was also failing to centroid on stars properly. After restarting it at my suggestion, it appeared to behave properly again. 2nd Half Observing Specialist: R. McMillan Second half had cirrus and moderate to poor seeing (1.3 to 2 arcsec), but was otherwise amazingly peaceful. ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:09 DIS-slit -120(825) 141 39 11.5/12.5 318 10 -- 1.11 19:14 NA2Gdr 832(56699) 142 40 11.6/13.6 308 10 R 1.11 20:46 DIS-slit -50(792) 173 44 11.8/12.2 295 7 -- 1.10 01:09 DISslit -50(822) 232 37 9.4/10.3 31 12 - 1.59 01:11 NA2gdr 1918(58918) 232 36 9.6/10.2 29 9 R 1.42 --------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 60 18 6 261 (W) 957 MstlyCldy none 17:01 58 16 6 276 (W) 821 MstlyCldy none 18:01 54 15 13 312 (NW) 976 PtlyCldy none 19:01 53 14 12 298 (WNW) 904 PtlyCldy none 20:01 52 13 9 277 (W) 969 PtlyCldy none 21:01 53 14 9 282 (WNW) 980 MstlyClr none 22:01 53 15 9 293 (WNW) 1107 MstlyClr none 23:01 52 17 10 279 (W) 1196 MstlyClr none 00:01 51 17 10 338 (NNW) 1067 MstlyClr none 01:01 49 13 7 6 (N) 1123 ptly cldy none 02:01 51 12 16 30 (NNE) 844 ptly cldy none 03:01 50 12 16 19 (NNE) 698 mstly clr none 04:01 50 12 19 15 (NNE) 750 mstly clr none 05:01 50 11 15 15 (NNE) 567 clear none 06:01 49 11 19 353 (N) 506 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
