I replaced the DIS lN2 dewar today and filled the Echelle, leaving one spare. The NA2 dewar is getting low as well. We are fine for nitrogen for at least 3-5 days from now. There is also a LOT of ice building up on the Echelle. I tried to gently remove some today, but a lot remains still. The weather conditions did allow us to open until 19:30 MST. I had to chip a small patch of ice off of either side of the slit door runners on the catwalk. After this ice was removed the doors opened normally. The motor squealing was heard during the beginning of the first slew and then no more for the rest of the night, although we mainly tracked and did very little slewing. Observing Specialist, 2nd Shift: Jack Dembicky Everything was running smoothly when I took over. I changed over to filter wheel #4 for Rene at instrument change over (00:00) and gave the instrument to him. Clear and very cold tonight. The telescope became lost during the middle of the night when I issued a command to the tcc at the wrong time. This caused a series of guider corrections to start accumulating an the telescope became "lost". A track/pterr quickly fixed the problem. At the end of the night (during the observers last exposure) the telescope again became lost (for reasons this time not known). I did not have time to resolve a fix for the problem due to the observers need to take morning flats (the telescope was operable enough to take those). I tried the same fix I did earlier but it did not work this time. A detailed PR was submitted. The telescope stowed in what appeared to be it's normal stow Alt/Az position. Other than those two problems every thing else ran smoothly all night with seeing from 1u per 0.1 cubic feet. TELESCOPE STATUS Primary, secondary, and tertiary mirrors in place and collimated. Primary support system operational. Mirror ventilation system in place. Telescope drives operational. Current Remark version: 2.62. Current guide software version: GIm Ctrlv3.0b27. Current TCC version is 2.4.1 Current MC version: v1_7_3. - Noel Camron Hastings, Jack Dembicky
