We also had high humidity and snow at times which would have prevented opening. I used the first half time to install a new DIS slit wheel that incorporates slots for all slits. It is now possible to switch from slit to slit without switching wheels. (currently available are 1.0Qz, 1.5Steel and 2.0 Steel) During this process I had to refocus the collimators as well, the red was good but the blue was out of focus. Email was sent to regarding the results. Observing Specialist, 2nd Shift: Jack Dembicky Snow and Ice on the enclosure as well as high humidity all night prevented any chance of opening. I took some DIS Slit images again tonight to look for movement of the slit at various rotation angles. Since Camron switched out the old slitwheel with the new one earlier tonight, the slit no longer appears to move nearly as much as it did before. Camron mentioned that the old slitwheel was not mounted properly and corrected it when he installed the new one tonight. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 18 17 9 187 (S) 168 cloudy none 17:01 17 17 8 185 (S) 117 cloudy none 18:01 16 15 5 181 (S) 395 cloudy snow 19:01 15 13 1 224 (SW) 621 cloudy snow 20:01 15 13 6 343 (NNW) 563 cloudy none 21:01 14 11 2 262 (W) 598 cloudy none 22:01 13 10 8 356 (N) 540 cloudy none 23:01 15 12 0 330 (NNW) 968 cloudy none 00:01 14 12 0 123 (ESE) 579 cloudy none 01:01 13 11 1 141 (SE) 380 cloudy snow 02:01 13 11 1 179 (S) 543 pt cldy none 03:01 11 8 7 85 (E) 481 pt cldy snow 04:01 11 8 4 261 (W) 508 cloudy none 05:01 12 9 4 337 (NNW) 804 cloudy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
