Only minor problems occurred: image elongation for a few minutes, communications failures with DIMM, strange but non-crippling behavior of the guider shutter. Pointing and guiding with DIS were noticeably better than previous nights after I did three consecutive pointing corrections; the second one seemed to do the trick. --------------- OBSERVER COMMENTS ---------------- --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:42 SPIcam -100(707) 101 68 7.4/9.6 65 8 g' 1.13 19:45 NA2gdr 0 101 68 7.6/9.5 59 10 none 0.97 20:37 SPIcam -50(772) 255 39 8.8/8.4 39 9 I 0.88 22:36 SPIcam 125(963) 244 35 11.3/8.3 177 0 I 1.05 01:26 DISslit 0(835) 208 71 9.7/8.8 179 2 - 0.97 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 54 27 8 263 (W) 560 clear none 18:01 53 27 2 226 (SW) 501 clear none 19:01 46 25 0 214 (SW) 539 clear none 20:01 46 26 9 82 (E) 670 clear none 21:01 48 12 4 25 (NNE) 294 clear none 22:01 48 15 5 92 (E) 453 clear none 23:01 51 -6 1 255 (WSW) 168 clear none 00:01 50 -7 6 122 (ESE) 156 clear none 01:01 49 -1 1 142 (SE) 237 clear none 02:01 49 16 1 108 (ESE) 423 clear none 03:01 50 -2 1 287 (WNW) 605 clear none 04:01 48 6 3 11 (N) 670 clear none 05:01 48 8 5 354 (N) 689 clear none 06:01 49 17 8 346 (NNW) 353 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
