Now note the correlation between the dewpoint and the DIMM data -- that's similar to the seeing we were getting. A dewpoint of 10 F or less corresponds to 1" seeing with the telescope, while a dewpoint of 30 F corresponds to 5" seeing. Tonight's seeing conditions were best described as "variable." Aside from the complications of the unpredictable seeing, everything went smoothly. --------------- OBSERVER COMMENTS ---------------- --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:51 SPIcam -50(940) 245 49 10.6/12.6 71 17 I 1.12 00:25 SPIcam 150(952) 262 14 5.0/5.5 5 8 I 2.65 01:25 DISslit 100(790) 227 46 2.8/4.1 104 0 - 3.21 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 55 14 6 326 (NW) 300 clear none 18:01 55 16 9 11 (N) 279 clear none 19:01 54 1 12 7 (N) 131 clear none 20:01 51 6 16 67 (ENE) 194 clear none 21:01 47 13 18 76 (ENE) 299 clear none 22:01 41 26 12 79 (ENE) 1091 clear none 23:01 42 20 8 38 (NE) 794 clear none 00:01 40 20 3 88 (E) 370 clear none 01:01 35 27 7 79 (ENE) 945 clear none 02:01 44 6 3 346 (NNW) 275 clear none 03:01 43 17 6 217 (SW) 644 clear none 04:01 43 20 6 249 (WSW) 715 clear none 05:01 43 19 0 302 (WNW) 650 clear none 06:01 42 19 2 346 (NNW) 688 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
