I did not notice any guider shutter problems tonight. The pointing was very poor, and the corrections did not seem to help consistently. Observing Specialist, 2nd shift: Russet McMillan Second half was peaceful and clear, with continued poor seeing and increasing winds. Whenever checked, DIMM was showing much better seeing than the instrument or guider. With GRIM at f/5 giving a larger field of view, pointing was adequate but not excellent. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:55 SPIcam +000(1318) 103 25 14.9/16.6 106 07 r' 2.40" 20:04 NA2Gdr +3000(1318) 104 26 14.9/16.7 123 11 -- 2.10" 20:54 GrIm f/20 +030(1263) 079 75 14.0/14.9 094 07 H 0.49" 20:04 NA2 Gdr -1000(1264) 079 75 14.1/14.9 015 08 -- 1.21" 20:40 GrIm f/20 -025(1170) 077 80 13.7/14.3 134 14 H 0.49" 20:43 NA2 GDr -3500(1176) 062 81 13.6/14.2 089 09 -- 1.31" 01:30 GRIM(f/5) 0(1173) -144 52 12.9/12.2 58 25 J 1.93 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 65 32 24 79 (ENE) 717 clear none 17:01 63 32 23 69 (ENE) 723 clear none 18:01 62 37 16 77 (ENE) 640 clear none 19:01 60 37 9 96 (E) 720 clear none 20:01 59 34 7 110 (ESE) 796 clear none 21:01 57 31 7 58 (ENE) 801 clear none 22:01 56 30 6 66 (ENE) 731 clear none 23:01 56 33 8 81 (E) 667 clear none 00:01 55 35 12 110 (ESE) 669 clear none 01:01 55 34 17 117 (ESE) 673 clear none 02:01 54 36 11 59 (ENE) 548 clear none 03:01 54 35 27 82 (E) 474 clear none 04:01 54 32 21 81 (E) 521 clear none 05:01 53 32 23 78 (ENE) 587 clear none 06:01 54 30 23 102 (ESE) 599 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
