Observations for PU05 were hampered by the clouds and the target's high airmass. GRIM observations using the instrument's polarimetry capabilities were also made more difficult by the changing cloud cover, but otherwise proceeded smoothly with few equipment problems. Observing Specialist, 2nd shift: Noel Camron Hastings The second half started OK, except for the thick cirrus. We closed early due to the opacity. Second half project did identify some targets though, which made the night successful all in all. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:00 SPIcam 20(1202) 130 72 15.4/17.8 188 9 r' 0.91 20:05 NA2Gdr 768(1202) 130 72 15.4/17.8 188 9 -- 1.0 21:10 GRIM(f/10) 50(1377) 222 13 15.7/16.3 222 13 K 0.77 21:20 NA2Gdr -1270(1377) 222 13 15.7/16.3 222 13 K 1.17 23:00 GRIM(f/10) 25(1367) 244 41 14.5/15.1 111 7 1.644 0.76 01:30 DIS Slit 30(1271) 133 37 14.8/14.7 272 5 none ?.??" ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 68 31 11 265 (W) 429 cirrus none 18:01 65 32 7 252 (WSW) 445 cirrus none 19:01 61 33 10 263 (W) 534 cirrus none 20:01 60 30 8 194 (SSW) 454 cirrus none 21:01 60 32 5 189 (S) 505 cirrus none 22:01 60 34 8 216 (SW) 562 cirrus none 23:01 58 35 5 199 (SSW) 655 cirrus none 00:01 59 39 5 259 (W) 1157 cirrus none 01:01 59 37 5 268 (W) 935 cirrus none 02:01 59 37 4 285 (WNW) 902 cirrus none 03:01 59 35 8 291 (WNW) 929 cirrus none 04:01 56 36 6 356 (N) 1035 cirrus none 05:01 58 36 15 9 (N) 1036 cloudy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
