The second half observer took sky flats with SPIcam while the first half observer took cals with the echelle. We focused to bad seeing and all ran well. The APO web server had to be rebooted at 23:15 when it was found to be unresponsive. The reboot fixed the problem. Noticed that the Echelle cannot point much to much better than 5-8 arcseconds accuracy. I think a new pointing model could help this, as well as determining if the tertiary is behaving differently at the NA1 port. Pointing seems to be reasonably good at NA2 still. Clouds came in thick for a half hour and then cleared up, which was the only weather time we lost. --------------- OBSERVER'S COMMENTS ---------------- --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:14 Echelle 210(????) 050 39 15.9/18.4 242 06 ND2 1.73" 23:40 Echelle 100(0406) 166 53 15.2/15.4 153 14 ND1 0.97" 01:14 SPIcam -050(1008) -016 73 14.5/14.9 173 11 R 1.07" 01:50 SPIcam -050(1005) -032 69 14.3/14.8 164 09 R 0.90" 01:53 SPIcam -075(0976) -033 68 14.3/14.7 179 11 500.7 1.02" 01:59 SPIcam -075(0976) -035 68 14.4/14.6 167 09 657nm 0.85" 02:04 NA2 Gdr -813(0978) -037 67 14.3/14.6 138 11 none 1.08" 05:29 SPIcam 000(1076) -066 58 14.9/14.5 105 10 R 0.73" 05:31 NA2 Gdr 230(1076) -066 58 14.9/14.5 183 08 none 1.02" ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 67 40 13 232 (SW) 325 ptly cldy none 17:01 67 39 12 204 (SSW) 381 ptly cldy none 18:01 69 39 14 220 (SW) 409 ptly cldy none 19:01 65 39 13 223 (SW) 617 ptly cldy none 20:01 62 37 6 233 (SW) 520 ptly cldy none 21:01 62 36 8 238 (WSW) 372 ptly cldy none 22:01 62 35 7 223 (SW) 347 ptly cldy none 23:01 59 41 12 156 (SSE) 627 mstly clr none 00:01 59 42 13 166 (SSE) 592 clear none 01:01 58 44 12 161 (SSE) 655 cloudy none 02:01 58 43 8 162 (SSE) 693 clear none 03:01 57 43 5 162 (SSE) 617 clear none 04:01 59 39 2 188 (S) 583 clear none 05:01 60 36 7 195 (SSW) 479 clear none 06:01 57 36 7 183 (S) 414 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
