No problems encountered, not much happened. Observing Specialist, Second Shift: Russet McMillan After a time of light rain and heavy clouds, the sky began to clear around 03:30. Due to threatening humidity, I delayed opening until 04:00. There was just enough time for DIS to be focused and PU04 to get some minimal data before the clouds moved in again, and the telescope was closed just when the instrument change would have occurred for the next program. We had star-tails on one of our slitviewer acquisition frames, although the telescope should not have been moving at the time. (See /export/images/disslit/rk01.fit). The image was exposed immediately after the end of a slew, but I was able to confirm that the slew ended normally with no rotator overshoot. The altitude was less than 60 degrees, so PMSS oscillations were not expected. I turned the guider on shortly after this image was taken and saw no other signs of movement until the clouds moved in. ****** OBSERVER COMMENTS ****** --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ----------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 04:05 DISslit -50(1067) 181 58 11.8/13.5 182 6 -- 0.89 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 60 48 0 201 (SSW) 858 cloudy none 18:01 67 47 6 247 (WSW) 655 cloudy none 19:01 61 46 2 191 (S) 677 cloudy none 20:01 58 45 3 221 (SW) 454 cloudy none 21:01 57 47 2 93 (E) 554 cloudy none 22:01 57 44 0 198 (SSW) 555 cloudy none 23:01 54 45 16 142 (SE) 316 cloudy rain 00:01 53 46 0 56 (NE) 986 cloudy rain 01:01 55 47 9 174 (S) 534 cloudy none 02:01 54 48 7 188 (S) 505 cloudy none 03:01 54 48 6 189 (S) 504 ptly cldy none 04:01 53 48 5 182 (S) 516 ptly cldy none 05:01 53 47 4 184 (S) 458 cloudy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
