The first program never got off the ground. Wei Zheng was onsite with students for his program. We opened at 22:43 MDT under partly cloudy skies and good seeing again. The internet was going down regularly. Craig looked into it, it was a problem somewhere else in the world, not here. We lost an hour of exposure time when it was discovered that DIS had started to warm. The lN2 cable was not properly seated, probably because I did not seat it properly when mounting it. It may have been that I just did not push hard enough when inserting it. I fixed the cable and DIS cooled off right away and we continued to image successfully until clouds started crowding us out again around 04:50 MDT. We did get some successful images tonight of very dim objects. --------------- Observer Comments ---------------- --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 22:51 DIS Slit 100(1355) 094 69 16.3/17.6 174 08 none 0.82" 22:59 NA2 Gdr 1727(1355) 095 69 16.3/17.6 174 08 none 1.08" 00:35 DIS Slit 020(1251) 208 54 15.4/16.1 141 15 none 0.83" 00:37 NA2 Gdr -499(1251) 210 54 15.4/16.0 142 15 none 0.80" ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 69 45 8 193 (SSW) 697 cloudy none 17:01 63 46 8 43 (NE) 707 cloudy rain 18:01 63 46 2 314 (NW) 608 cloudy none 19:01 63 44 3 138 (SE) 764 cloudy none 20:01 63 43 4 154 (SSE) 772 cloudy none 21:01 62 44 5 208 (SSW) 802 cloudy none 22:01 62 43 9 141 (SE) 790 cloudy none 23:01 61 43 8 177 (S) 752 ptly cldy none 00:01 60 42 14 152 (SSE) 748 ptly cldy none 01:01 59 41 13 133 (SE) 572 ptly cldy none 02:01 59 41 9 166 (SSE) 552 clear none 03:01 57 43 13 139 (SE) 698 clear none 04:01 57 43 3 112 (ESE) 694 clear none 05:01 57 42 6 181 (S) 649 ptly cldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
