Seeing was variable with occasional bad patches, but not so bad as the previous night. Some targets at higher altitude delivered seeing better than an arcsecond. Observing went very smoothly, with the telescope and instrument both behaving perfectly. Observing Specialist, 2nd shift: Camron Hastings Things ran smoothly until 03:35 MDT when the telescope tracking had problems. I submitted a problem report describing it. We fixed the problem and then returned to observing for the remainder of the evening. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:10 GFP 100(1547) 170 35 13.6/14.4 77 22 6563A 1.37" 00:30 GFP 100(1335) 159 56 11.5/11.7 101 17 6563A 1.03" 00:36 NA2 Gdr 340(1335) 165 57 11.3/11.7 88 14 none 1.42" 04:30 NA2 Gdr 1260(1285) -31 56 10.3/10.5 82 08 Red 1.12" ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 60 48 8 90 (E) 716 ptly cldy none 18:01 61 46 9 86 (E) 652 mstly clr none 19:01 59 45 15 79 (ENE) 593 mstly clr none 20:01 56 44 20 78 (ENE) 552 clear none 21:01 55 45 17 88 (E) 673 clear none 22:01 55 44 13 84 (E) 703 clear none 23:01 54 45 14 109 (ESE) 821 clear none 00:01 53 45 11 103 (ESE) 861 clear none 01:01 53 44 15 79 (ENE) 961 clear none 02:01 52 44 13 82 (E) 980 clear none 03:01 51 44 16 75 (ENE) 1017 ptly cldy none 04:01 51 44 9 78 (ENE) 963 clear none 05:01 52 44 3 6 (N) 883 clear none 06:01 51 43 7 79 (ENE) 1003 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
