Our internet connection was down somewhere between APO and NMSU, so that we couldn't access any outside websites for weather prediction. All local computer systems were working normally, however. The dome was opened for cooling before sunset. The Fabry-Perot team obtained twilight flats, focused by the end of twilight, and settled down for data-taking without significant trouble. The time scheduled for UW12 was donated to Daniel Zucker, but those observations had to be performed in a service-observing mode because of the internet problems. Observing Specialist, 2nd shift: Camron Hastings Started second half without incident. Due to the internet loss, I started service observing with DIS for Dan Zucker at UW with faxed down target lists. Humidity forced us to close near dawn, but we got quite a bit of useful science data before then. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:30 GFP 550(1502) 174 35 13.1/14.5 99 17 6563 1.70" 21:00 GFP 550(1477) 182 35 12.9/14.0 84 18 6563 1.15" 21:00 NA2 Gdr 6700(1477) 182 35 12.9/14.0 84 18 -- 1.65" 01:35 DIS Slit 100(1119) 168 51 10.9/11.0 86 19 none 1.27" Note: The zero-points for the GFP and the guider with the GFP were adjusted after these measurements. ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 17:01 63 41 14 121 (ESE) 717 ptly cldy none 18:01 61 41 18 80 (E) 850 mstly clr none 19:01 59 43 19 77 (ENE) 902 mstly clr none 20:01 56 43 16 77 (ENE) 955 clear none 21:01 55 44 19 85 (E) 1124 clear none 22:01 54 44 15 82 (E) 1193 clear none 23:01 53 44 21 80 (E) 1339 clear none 00:01 53 44 19 80 (E) 1339 clear none 01:01 52 44 13 92 (E) 1228 ptly cldy none 02:01 51 44 14 83 (E) 1204 clear none 03:01 51 44 13 78 (ENE) 1200 clear none 04:01 50 44 17 73 (ENE) 1162 clear none 05:01 48 44 14 72 (ENE) 1056 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
