Skies gradually cleared during first half, and the seeing appeared to be moderate, although it was hard to be certain since we were doing many targets at high airmass. Despite some concerns about the stability of the tertiary, the telescope was pointing well while SPIcam was in use, and we saw no evidence of flopping from the mirror. The scheduled observer for PU08 was extremely ill, so I volunteered to do some service observing at short notice. As on previous nights, problems with the GRIM Mac caused interruptions in the script observing. GRIM users are advised to plan around such interruptions by making their scripts as modular as possible. The telescope was closed at 04:00 due to rising dust. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:50 SPIcam -50(1198) 115 38 15.2/16.7 180 12 r' 1.20 21:45 SPIcam -50(1286) 71 24 13.6/15.7 183 10 R 1.61 01:05 GRIM(f/5) -25(1310) 112 37 15.1/14.3 290 6 H 1 micron per 0.1 cu. ft.
