During checkout, the PMSS desiccant showed pink, and there was one example of oscillating behavior visible on the load cell monitors during the test slews, but we had no obvious cases of PMSS trouble during actual observing. GRIM displayed some of its favorite bugs, with two failures of the application on the ICC and one "no flush" error in the middle of a script. Each of these was easily fixed, but together they cost several minutes. The observer reported some poor tracking while the echelle was in use, a change from previous nights. I noticed that some of the magnasensor errors in altitude were slightly higher than normal, but not by much. Running the telescope up and down to cross more magnasensors did not reduce the errors or improve tracking, but the problem wasn't bad enough to warrant taking more time to work on it. The tracking difficulties might also have been due to the deterioration in seeing. Since SPIcam has been allowed to warm in preparation for pumping during the upcoming engineering, the time scheduled for PU05 was given instead to Shack-Hartmann testing. I managed to do a near-complete altitude sweep with data from 28 to 72 degrees altitude, plus targets at 20 degrees and 82 degrees which might or might not be useful (I was still seeing oscillations at high altitude, and it was getting light). ****** OBSERVER COMMENTS ****** - NONE - --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:30 GRIM(f/5) 0(1402) 119 60 16.9/18.2 154 14 J 1 micron per 0.1 cu. ft.
