Both sets of gratings (medium and high) were within roughly a step. When first commanded to, the blue medium grating (bay 1 ) failed to move. No problems on subsequent moves however. DIS seemed out of balance on the NA2 rotator. During the afternoon checkout, the inner PMSS desiccant canister was showing pink. While switching over to the outer (blue) one, the alarm was triggered by inadvertently cutting off pressure (improper valve sequencing). After restoring airflow, the telescope was slewed up and down a half dozen times. On the 2nd downward slew, the PMSS alarm was triggered again, but quit in a few seconds. No alarm on the first or last 4 altitude slews. The Dataq system was monitored and showed nothing obviously wrong such as oscillations. The transverse pressure reading did go off scale at high altitude. Not sure if this is a PMSS problem though. The sky cleared around 21:10 and dome was opened at 21:20. Figured about 6 scheduled minutes lost to weather. A few minor CW overshoots (around 3 degrees) were noticed. The TR1 mirror cover (S-H port) inner eyelid was sticking at low altitudes. Had once instance of guiding failure (error code 1) while using DIS, possibly from drastically undersampling (about 1 pixel wide)? John Briggs was doing DIMM-2 measurements from the WSMR dome (along side DIMM-1). He noticed that the image part on the screen (both DIMM's) seemed to become inactive after some time. Although data were still apparently being recorded the images could not be displayed until DIMM measurements were stopped then restarted. Mounted SPIcam and obtained Lens monitoring images with about 0.6 arcsec seeing. Guiding was a problem in sometimes star was too close to edge and sometimes put off chip by the offsets. Since there were previous problems with the super flats in that some pixels were not being dithered off the galaxy completely, larger offsets were implimented. A more optimized LensScript is needed for maximum-sized offsets using an initially well-placed guide star. SPIcam's instrument cart brake is not grabbing very well and needs to be adjusted.
