All systems performing well at startup and first half except for during the first half the DIS slit imaging camera lost connection with the control room computer multiple times. (Time Out Error) While using SPIcam for the lens program I ran across an odd error message that popped up a few times. Did not seem to affect things adversely. Also, once SPIcam was mounted and I started the lens program the telescope was completely lost! I had to make multiple slews and eventually I found where I was again, but we lost most of the minutes allowed for the program. Of course, the seeing went from 0.9 arcsecs at 04:30 MDT to about 2.1 arcsecs at 04:45 MDT!! ****** OBSERVER COMMENTS ****** --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ----------------- Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:15 DIS Slit 150(1274) 244 31 17.4/19.4 033 08 none 1.15" 01:00 DIS Slit 150(1033) 015 58 15.6/16.2 254 02 none 1.19" 04:20 SPIcam 050(0868) 149 57 15.5/16.4 350 06 r' 0.94" #First temp is air, second temp is telescope structure. ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 68 37 3 260 (W) 459 clear none 17:01 69 36 12 315 (NW) 400 clear none 18:01 69 35 5 346 (NNW) 437 clear none 19:01 69 37 2 267 (W) 446 clear none 20:01 66 36 2 354 (N) 513 clear none 21:01 63 36 2 357 (N) 584 clear none 22:01 65 34 6 23 (NNE) 490 clear none 23:01 63 36 1 240 (WSW) 544 ptly cldy none 00:01 63 37 3 221 (SW) 564 ptly cldy none 01:01 63 37 4 249 (WSW) 636 clear none 02:01 62 37 5 274 (W) 731 clear none 03:01 63 37 2 319 (NW) 650 clear none 04:01 63 37 5 341 (NNW) 620 ptly cldy none 05:01 59 37 5 2 (N) 735 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
