All system started up without trouble and remained so for the night. Telescope tracked and pointed well. I used the new TCL script for calibrating the DIS gratings and it saved time and worked well. John Briggs took concurrent DIMM data with DIMM2 all night with good success. ****** OBSERVER COMMENTS ****** --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ----------------- Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:54 DIS Slit 100(1146) 243 33 17.9/16.3 231 08 none 1.35" 01:02 GRIM-f/5 100(1007) 113 64 14.9/15.0 196 04 J 0.78" 01:19 GRIM-f/10 025(0920) 104 68 14.8/14.6 251 04 J 0.59" #First temp is air, second temp is telescope structure. ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 62 39 8 324 (NW) 327 clear none 17:01 63 37 10 266 (W) 242 clear none 18:01 64 35 13 278 (W) 218 clear none 19:01 65 40 9 272 (W) 246 clear none 20:01 61 42 5 267 (W) 233 clear none 21:01 60 41 8 231 (SW) 289 clear none 22:01 61 39 6 209 (SSW) 260 clear none 23:01 59 38 7 215 (SW) 336 clear none 00:01 59 38 7 241 (WSW) 678 clear none 01:01 57 38 7 232 (SW) 552 clear none 02:01 57 40 2 275 (W) 620 clear none 03:01 58 37 6 275 (W) 442 clear none 04:01 59 38 7 328 (NNW) 455 clear none 05:01 55 41 4 20 (NNE) 591 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
