Seems to be fine, however the PMSS monitoring program was not run. No obvious PMSS problems were noticed in images. Opened at 20:05. Marginally high dust count at evening twilight, but stayed open. Playing with press fans and louvers had no noticeable effect on enclosure counts. Dust count precipitously dropped just after 22:00. Closed at 22:55 due to clouds and reopened at 23:35. Potential NA2 guider problem. Had one instance of getting a best focus value just outside of the set gfocus range. When centering the next gfocus around this number (steps of 2000) there appeared to be no change in fwhm's. Because of the recent NA2 guider gmech problems, the mechanism was remapped. gfocus was tried again and it found a best focus close to the originally extrapolated value. It may possibly have been extraordinarily variable seeing which randomly gave similar values, but this seems unlikely. Had some minor CW rotator overshoots (couple degrees). With SPIcam, pointing was reported by the remote observer as fairly inaccurate, at times on the order of one arcminute off. With DIS the point was very precise (within a few pixels in all 10 or so cases), but around a dozen arcseconds off from slit (and boresight?). Managed to zero-step DIS high-res blue grating (homing currently appears to be useless) in time for second-half observer after mounting. While using DIS, clouds interferred, producing some weak spectra. Overall, it seemed justified in remaining open and continuing to expose. Changed Spicam lens script (LensScript3) to double the Y instrument offset. No stars were seen during focusing. Some of Russet's orographic Holstein clouds? Started LensScript3 regardless and adjusted focus on the fly. Eventually skies cleared. Closed at 05:20.
