ESS6 light bulb was found inoperative.* Had to stop (and restart) DIMM at the laptop for displaying (and logging?) of current data. Image motion was evident in SPIcam frames, eg. /export/images/dls.may05.0021. Opened primary mirror LVDT monitor, no obvious PMSS problems were seen. The secondary nor the guider were being pistoned during exposures. Did not appear to be tracking error, for the size was independent of exposure time. From the guider images it was apparently an oscillation of about 1-1/2 arcsec in amplitude and on the order of ten seconds in time, eg. /export/images/guider/gimg0520.fits. Took a Shack-Hartmann frame of SAO 137891 for later analysis. Later with DIS, this motion was still seen in the slit viewer images. The rotator died. Not binding, just quit moving. It took several axis initializations to get it going again. Closed at 05:20. Some calibration spectra were then done.
