Slewed a few times. No troubles. I refocused the DIMM telescope and cleaned up the desktop. I also restarted the laptop to clean up any lingering processes. DIMM started up remotely before I did this without a hitch. Second Half Observing Specialist: McMillan The FTS was able to get on the sky shortly before midnight, but had problems acquiring targets. After pointing at several bright stars and getting no light on the detectors, they decided they didn't have enough time to figure out the problem and get good data before it was time to quit. DIS was mounted early, around 00:30, and focusing was nearly finished by the time the remote observer logged in. The weather was very clear, but seeing ranged from poor to terrible, sometimes worse than 3 arcseconds. Even when the average seeing was better than 1.5, there were frequent flare-ups. Most of these appeared to be genuine seeing variations, but some might have been the product of windshake, since we were near the wind, or secondary motion, since the autocollimation processes were running. For the most part, the guider FWHM measurements were comparable with the DIMM results, except when the telescope was at high airmass. * We had difficulty with one slew which may have been due to a rotator problem, but otherwise no equipment trouble. Pointing and guiding were very consistent.
