The telescope was opened at 17:10. During opening, one of the mirror cover panels appeared defective.* The DIMM was reporting downwards of 0.6 arcsecond seeing, which agreed very well with some echelle slit viewer's 1-second (time) exposures. Closed at 20:05 due to clouds. The DIMM and IRSC were closed at 22:45 due to rain. Second-Half Observing Specialist: McMillan Second half was partly cloudy, but we were able to open at 00:30. There was a little trouble when we tried to take darks with GRIM -- the instrument hung up because the requested exposure times (1.0 seconds) were too short, but it continued to hang up even when the exposure time was increased. Restarting the Mac and MC cleared the problem. Once we were open, both the instrument and telescope behaved well, as far as we could tell through the clouds. The only anomaly was that the astigmatism seemed to be quite bad even 25 or 50 steps out of focus.
