Turned the telescope over to the first project at 16:55. Clouds moved in at the end of the first program which prevented the second program from starting on time. They took darks and flats while they waited for an opening in the clouds (which never happened). Observing Specialist, 2nd Shift: Russet McMillan After a sprinkling of graupel before midnight, the skies cleared suddenly around 01:45, as soon as the Sloan Observers had all given up. The telescope was opened at 02:10, and we had about half an hour of clear skies and good seeing before more clouds started to appear. Another clearing later on gave us usable time until dawn. The telescope and instrument behaved perfectly for all of this. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:22 GrIm2(f/10) -110(675) 135 62 0.5/2.2 261 21 K 0.95 02:35 gdr -1000(645) 173 70 0.6/1.9 252 22 - 1.1 04:48 GrIm2(f/10) -30(651) 275 58 -0.8/-0.4 270 18 K 0.91 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 39 17 17 229 (SW) 313 Pt.
