The seeing was fairly good during focus runs and remained good on the guider, but I couldn't get the same results on longer slitviewer exposures even after careful focusing. Between the mediocre slitviewer seeing and the cirrus, it was once again hard to acquire and observe the faint DIS targets, but some science was achieved anyway. Observing Specialist, 2nd Shift: Jack Dembicky Cirrus clouds overhead all night. The telescope ran smoothly. I Transfered telescope control (and slitviewer) over to 2nd half operator at 00:10. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:44 DISslit -100(610) 198 55 1.2/2.5 326 12 - 1.02 22:45 DISslit 80(655) 133 67 1.2/0.2 306 06 - 1.05 02:00 DISslit 20(537) 60 58 -0.1/-0.4 300 11 - 1.05 04:10 DISslit 0(474) 1 51 -1.8/-1.6 322 09 - 1.37 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 35 0 1 86 (E) 197 mstly clr none 17:01 36 0 3 21 (NNE) 150 mstly clr none 18:01 35 -1 8 11 (N) 173 cirrus none 19:01 34 -2 7 313 (NW) 210 cirrus none 20:01 34 -1 8 305 (NW) 215 cirrus none 21:01 33 0 5 5 (N) 221 cirrus none 22:01 32 0 1 327 (NNW) 247 cirrus none 23:01 34 0 6 283 (WNW) 212 cirrus none 00:01 33 0 8 280 (W) 187 cirrus none 01:01 33 0 11 274 (W) 224 cirrus none 02:01 32 1 11 299 (WNW) 260 cirrus none 03:01 30 1 11 303 (WNW) 189 cirrus none 04:01 29 0 6 288 (WNW) 407 cirrus none 05:01 28 1 7 300 (WNW) 361 cirrus none 06:01 27 3 7 353 (N) 369 cirrus none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
