Had louvers open and fans on for cooling much earlier. Opened around 19:00 with winds sitting near 33mph. Bad seeing, clear skies and lots of wind shake in images. The JHU team succesfully ran the DIS slit camera remotely making all offsets remotely, the first I believe. It speeded things up a bit. Observing Specialist, 2nd Shift: Jack Dembicky Everything rans smooth. Did an inst. change at 00:10 to SPIcam and turned the telescope over to the remote observer. The seeing started out poor at the start then imporved around 02:00 to just below sub arc-sec then gradually deteriorated back to about 1.5 arc-sec seeing at 03:00 and then bounced around between 0.9 and 2.0 arc-sec the remainder of the night. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:15 DIS Slit -120(160) 191 56 -7.3/-6.0 027 22 none 2.11" 19:17 NA2 Gdr -1123(161) 194 55 -7.3/-6.1 026 31 none 1.89" 21:48 DIS Slit -075(212) 197 60 -4.7/-5.4 071 14 none 4.35" 00:35 SPIcam 0(444) 329 65 -2.6/-4.2 059 13 Halpha 1.52" 01:12 SPIcam 25(505) -37 61 -2.8/-3.7 053 13 Halpha 1.55" 03:24 SPIcam 100(707) -46 46 0.3/-2.5 215 07 Halpha 1.49" ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 22 -11 5 55 (NE) 115 clear none 17:01 21 -12 28 21 (NNE) 110 clear none 18:01 20 -13 16 24 (NNE) 113 clear none 19:01 20 -13 23 29 (NNE) 209 clear none 20:01 21 -15 24 44 (NE) 80 clear none 21:01 24 -19 23 64 (ENE) 72 clear none 22:01 26 -17 10 68 (ENE) 65 clear none 23:01 26 -19 10 74 (ENE) 54 clear none 00:01 27 -17 4 79 (ENE) 49 clear none 01:01 27 -17 8 81 (E) 39 clear none 02:01 28 -16 12 82 (E) 47 clear none 03:01 33 -13 12 79 (ENE) 86 clear none 04:01 33 -12 1 207 (SSW) 122 clear none 05:01 32 -13 1 184 (S) 94 clear none 06:01 34 -11 2 236 (SW) 155 clear none 07:01 32 -13 7 223 (SW) 118 clear none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
