Afterwards, I was unable to reach anyone regarding repair so I decided to hard reboot Tycho. This allowed Tycho to boot, but the MC would not operate. Russ Owen helped out troubleshooting, and we found that the TCC had also rebooted itself. After that was identified and the MC restarted, all was working again. Craig looked around the system to make sure all was well with it after the rather rough treatment it had at the hands of the observing specialist! :) The first tests Jon Holtzman made with the multi-slit program he is trying to develop were very successful taking spectra of 5 object on three slits. Observing Specialist, 2nd Shift: Russet McMillan Everything went smoothly second half. SPIcam was mounted early so that Jon Holtzman could get some quick astrometric shots. Jeff Morgan obtained some observations for the UW05 program before going on to do lots of scattered light tests, then finished up with twilight flats. The sky was clear, the dust lower than I've ever seen it, and the seeing quite variable (0.7 to 2.5 arcsec). --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:03 SPIcam +150(834) 216 56 -0.3/+0.6 354 20 r' 0.89" 19:05 DIS Slit -000(529) 152 57 -0.7/-0.0 359 11 none 1.38" 19:11 NA2 Gdr -2000(524) 154 57 -0.6/-0.1 007 13 none 1.18" 00:03 SPIcam 50(828) 105 43 2.4/0.4 15 19 none 2.74 00:13 SPIcam 125(904) 107 45 2.2/0.4 23 15 I 1.46 00:51 NA2gdr -474 53 56 2.2/1.4 325 8 -- 1.523 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 32 -12 19 1 (N) 159 Clear None 17:01 34 -11 11 1 (N) 140 Clear None 18:01 31 -10 16 349 (NNW) 212 Clear None 19:01 32 -2 15 6 (N) 232 Clear None 20:01 32 0 19 3 (N) 280 Clear None 21:01 33 0 15 0 (N) 277 Clear None 22:01 34 0 20 9 (N) 274 Clear None 23:01 32 0 15 17 (NNE) 257 Clear None 00:01 36 0 14 341 (NNW) 130 Clear None 01:01 36 -1 17 21 (NNE) 96 Clear None 02:01 36 0 13 12 (NNE) 81 Clear None 03:01 38 -1 3 1 (N) 44 Clear None 04:01 38 1 10 353 (N) 21 Clear None 05:01 39 1 16 316 (NW) 8 Clear None 06:01 41 2 11 284 (WNW) 0 Clear None 07:01 41 1 10 294 (WNW) 2 Clear None note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
