Observing Specialist, 2nd Shift: Russet McMillan Near the latter part of the morning, the clouds began to thin, and an edge was visible that looked as if it would reach us just at dawn. We opened at 04:25 and were able to focus and observe a standard despite the clouds and very poor seeing, but the science targets, especially those at high airmass, proved more difficult. The sky cleared at about 06:00. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 04:34 DISslit -150(445) 103 60 -0.3/0.1 305 15 - 2.23 04:37 NA2gdr -2000 104 60 -0.2/-0.0 291 10 none 1.95 ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 35 20 12 262 (W) 447 Cloudy None 17:01 34 21 17 249 (WSW) 439 Cloudy None 18:01 34 21 15 241 (WSW) 559 Cloudy None 19:01 34 19 17 263 (W) 465 Cloudy None 20:01 33 20 22 263 (W) 394 Cloudy None 21:01 34 22 20 276 (W) 412 Cloudy None 22:01 34 25 25 285 (WNW) 452 Cloudy None 23:01 34 26 28 271 (W) 516 Cloudy None 00:01 34 27 26 265 (W) 611 Cloudy None 01:01 33 27 26 268 (W) 830 Cloudy None 02:01 33 27 19 267 (W) 1189 Cloudy None 03:01 30 27 15 268 (W) 1827 Cloudy None 04:01 31 24 12 268 (W) 348 mstly cldy none 05:01 32 18 15 316 (NW) 180 ptly cldy none 06:01 32 14 11 337 (NNW) 163 mstly clr none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
