Worked on SPIcam flats with a new 'eveflat' script to add rotations to help average out the scattered light effects. Had a SPIcam crash and had to hard reboot, but all was fine after that. The first focus images with SPIcam were promising, and we obtained good lens data even though we had a low throughput due to cirrus. The second program started without incident and although seeing was variable at times, we got a lot of good data. Smooth all night. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM" --------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:50 SPIcam +080(0988) 173 60 5.6/6.1 036 16 R 0.79" 17:59 NA2 Gdr +0402(0984) 175 61 5.7/6.0 034 14 none 0.91" 18:50 DIS Slit +100(0900) 184 52 6.0/6.0 006 12 none 1.13" 18:59 NA2 Gdr +0117(0904) 185 52 6.0/6.0 025 18 none 1.11" 21:10 DIS Slit +060(0829) 201 56 5.5/5.5 027 13 none 1.15" 21:14 NA2 Gdr -0190(0834) 204 55 5.4/5.4 035 09 none 0.91" ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 42 18 13 40 (NE) 232 Cirrus None 17:01 43 10 12 37 (NE) 94 Cirrus None 18:01 44 7 13 29 (NNE) 66 Cirrus None 19:01 44 9 14 35 (NE) 81 Cirrus None 20:01 43 12 18 23 (NNE) 73 Cirrus None 21:01 43 12 20 26 (NNE) 74 Clear None 22:01 42 12 7 89 (E) 95 Clear None 23:01 42 17 7 89 (E) 126 Clear None 00:01 43 14 1 50 (NE) 109 Clear None 01:01 43 14 3 58 (ENE) 125 Clear None 02:01 41 16 2 205 (SSW) 209 Clear None 03:01 42 16 1 247 (WSW) 186 Clear None 04:01 40 17 0 298 (WNW) 166 Clear None 05:01 39 18 4 294 (WNW) 177 Clear None 06:01 39 18 2 252 (WSW) 215 Clear None note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
