Observing Specialist, 2nd Shift: Russet McMillan Second half started out quite cloudy. Some attempts to get cloud flats near the moon were unsuccessful. The precipitation sensor triggered several times, but it was apparently reacting either to humidity or blowing snow, because there was no human-detected precipitation. When the clouds thinned out, first high humidity and later high winds kept us closed. We did manage to open during morning twilight and get some flats in borderline humidity conditions. ---------------- OBSERVER COMMENTS ------------------ N. Chanover (NM01): The first two clear nights with AImS were very good. The data was of high quality and we reached our scientific objectives. --------------- INSTRUMENT FOCUS LOG ---------------- Air/Truss Wind Time Instrument Focus Az El #Temp-C Dir MPH filt FWHM --------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER CONDITIONS ------------ Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:01 37 27 13 201 (SSW) 309 Cloudy none 17:01 34 27 14 215 (SW) 396 Cloudy none 18:01 36 14 10 213 (SSW) 135 Cloudy none 19:01 36 1 17 237 (WSW) 397 Cloudy none 20:01 35 13 11 229 (SW) 345 Cloudy none 21:01 34 23 18 199 (SSW) 244 Cloudy none 22:01 35 25 24 201 (SSW) 248 Cloudy none 23:01 35 25 21 211 (SSW) 194 Cloudy none 00:01 35 25 17 203 (SSW) 252 cloudy none? 01:01 35 30 24 196 (SSW) 473 cloudy none 02:01 35 32 26 199 (SSW) 773 mstly cldy none 03:01 34 28 29 220 (SW) 774 ptly cldy none 04:01 34 27 26 232 (SW) 477 ptly cldy none 05:01 33 25 19 247 (WSW) 313 ptly cldy none 06:01 31 28 20 228 (SW) 595 ptly cldy none note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
